Hirona Yamazaki, Robin Furuya, Shōno Hayama, Yui Yokoyama, Jingi Irie join cast of July 7 series




The Replica: Revenge of the Ex-Wife ( Replica Moto Tsuma no Fukushū ) manga has been adapted into a live-action series by Tomo Tanaka and Hacchi Hirai. The official website has released the key visual, which features the main characters, as well as five additional cast members. Additionally, the ending theme song "B.U.G." has been performed by Dios.

The newly announced cast members are (image above from top left to bottom right):

- Hirona Yamazaki as Harue Shibata
- Robin Furuya as Itsuki Kinjō
- Shōno Hayama as Kei Tamori
- Yui Yokoyama as Sakurako
- Jingi Irie as Tachibana


In the series, both Reina Triendl and Sumire Itō portray the character of Aoi Fujimura at different points in the story. At first, Aoi appears as Sumire, but later changes her appearance and identity back to Aoi.

Previously announced cast members include:

- Mayu Miyamoto as Karin Fujimura
- Ryō Kimura as Kippei Fujimura
- Kento Senga ( Kis-My-Ft2 boy band member) as Mirai Kiritani


The series will premiere in the "Drama Premiere" programming block of TV Tokyo , TV Osaka , TV Aichi , TV Setouchi , TV Hokkaido , and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu on July 7 at 11:06 p.m. (10:06 a.m. EDT). The group Kis-My-Ft2 performs the series' opening theme song "CHEAT."

MangaPlaza has released the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Aoi grew up constantly being made fun of and bullied for her appearance. After going through one bad experience after the other in school, she finally gets to marry the man of her dreams who loves her for who she is. However, he too eventually seeks out someone better-looking and cheats on her, resulting in their divorce. Oddly enough though... the woman he cheated on Aoi with is the same girl who bullied her throughout their school years...! Now Aoi's on a mission to get revenge on the man who cheated on her who is now married to the woman who made her life miserable. She has her face reshaped, her name changed to Sumire, and slowly begins to find her way into their lives...

The individuals responsible for directing the series are Keita Motohashi, Hajime Senoo, and Kazunori Yamashita. Yasuhiro Yoshida wrote the scripts, while Erika Tōyama and Miho Aotsuka also contributed. Kōji Endō composed the music for the series. Amazing JIRO ( Gannibal ), also known as Gannibal, is in charge of special makeup for the series.

In November 2020, Tanaka and Hirai released their manga on the Comic Tatan website. Coamix will release the 16th volume of the manga on August 20th.
